Why We Need Jesus

Lesson Title: Introduction to Our Need for Jesus

Objective:

To understand why humanity needs a Savior, beginning with the problem of sin, separation from God, and God’s redemptive plan.

Key Scriptures:

• Romans 3:23 — “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

• Isaiah 59:2 — “Your sins have separated you from your God...”

• Romans 6:23 — “The wages of sin is death…”

• John 3:16 — “For God so loved the world…”

Key Themes:

• The Fall: Humanity was created good (Gen 1:31), but sinned (Gen 3), resulting in spiritual death and separation from God.

• Universal Sin: No one is righteous; all are born into sin (Psalm 51:5; Romans 5:12).

• Need for Rescue: We cannot save ourselves through works, morality, or religion.

• Jesus: God’s answer to the human condition — the only one qualified to redeem.
